Search by name or filter to what you are in the mood for: high proof, wheated, rye forward, or anything carrying a real age statement. Every bottle opens to proof, age, distillery, region and typical retail price, with a photo of the label so you can match it to the shelf in front of you.
Founding dates, parent companies, tasting notes and what each house is known for. Browse by state to see who is making what, and where.
Sealed, open, wishlist and favorites. Record what you paid, when you bought it, and your own notes. Add custom fields for whatever you actually track.
Point the camera at a barcode to add a bottle in a second. No barcode on the back bar? Scan the label instead and the app reads it.
Full recipes across the whiskey family, with measures and method. Useful for the bottle that turned out to be a mixer rather than a sipper.
Start a thread, post a photo of the pour, reply, and follow the answers. Get notified on replies, mentions and likes, or turn all of it off. Every post can be reported and every member can be blocked, and both work immediately.

You found out on Tuesday. It was gone by Saturday lunchtime, and the group chat had three photos of someone else holding it. Bourbon Project tells you while it is still there: when another member finds an allocated bottle sitting at retail price near you, you get a push with the store, the price, a photo of the shelf and a route to the door.

First one there wins. This is a heads-up, not a reservation — an allocated bottle at retail lasts hours and sometimes minutes. What the alert buys you is the hours.
A member spots the bottle, photographs the shelf tag and files the price. Reporting is free and always will be — you do not need Pro to tell the room you found something, only to be told.
A person looks at it before anything is sent. Sending a few hundred people to a shelf on a rumour is the one mistake this feature cannot afford to make twice.
Pro members inside their chosen radius get the push at the same moment, nearest first. After that it is a footrace, which is rather the point.
Every price the community reports goes into a dated ledger rather than overwriting the last figure. Your collection is valued from that record, so the chart shows a real history instead of a single guess.
Guest mode opens the catalog, the distilleries and the news without an account. A profile is only needed once you want a shelf or a voice in the forum.
Report any post and block any member from inside the app. Blocked members disappear from your feed straight away, and reports are reviewed.
Export your collection as a spreadsheet whenever you like, and delete your account and its contents from Settings.
The app is for people of legal drinking age. Bourbon Project does not sell, ship or broker alcohol, and it is not a marketplace.

Search, the full catalog, the forum, price reporting and the news never sit behind a paywall. Paid tiers buy scale and the deeper valuation tools.
Every Pro feature is on for every account until 1 February 2027, with nothing to pay and nothing to cancel. Accounts created before 1 November 2026 keep Pro permanently.

No. Guest mode gives you the catalog, distilleries, regions, cocktails and the news feed. You need a profile to keep a collection, post in discussions or receive alerts, because all three need somewhere to store your work.
From reported observations: retail prices, prices members enter when they add a bottle, and prices flagged by the community. Each observation is stored with its own date, and valuations are calculated from that record. Any figure can be reported as wrong from inside the app.
No. The valuation is an estimate built from reported market prices and is meant for your own record keeping. The Collector appraisal document gives you a dated, itemised summary you can hand to an insurer, but no insurer is obliged to accept it and it is not financial or investment advice.
A barcode scan matches the bottle in the catalog and fills the entry in for you. Label scanning reads the text on the label when there is no barcode to read. Scan images are used to identify the bottle and are not published anywhere.
A member finds an allocated bottle on a shelf at retail price, photographs the price tag and files it. Somebody checks the photo, then everyone with Pro inside their chosen radius gets a push at the same moment, nearest first, with the store and a directions link. Alerts close themselves after a few hours, or sooner once two people report the bottle gone.
No. You pick the radius, from five miles up to a hundred, and there is a daily cap: twenty-five alerts on Pro, a hundred on Collector. In practice a bottle worth driving for turns up rarely, which is exactly why it is worth being told about. You can turn the whole thing off in Settings without affecting anything else.
No. Reporting prices and filing finds is free for everyone and will stay that way — the app only works if people report what they see. Pro is what lets you receive the alerts.
A ZIP code, or an approximate position if you tap “use my location”. We deliberately do not ask for a street address: a mileage radius does not need one, and a list of home addresses belonging to people who collect allocated bourbon is not a thing worth keeping. Your location is never shown to other members. Store addresses are public information and are shown, because an alert without directions is useless.
Yes. Pro and Collector accounts export the whole collection to CSV, including cost basis and current value. Deleting your account removes your profile, collection and posts.
No. It is a reference, collection and community app. Nothing is for sale, no orders are taken, and the app is intended for people of legal drinking age in their country of residence.
Bourbon Project is coming to iOS and Android. Founding accounts keep Pro for good.
